A line of green light traces the outline of a PX

The check

What we look at, and who looks

Guided photos, two AIs that check each other, an inspector where it matters.

The scan, from the film

The principle

AI assists the check. It does not sign it.

Where the two AIs disagree, a person decides. What cannot be verified, the report says.

The protocol

The twenty shots

Always the same, in the same order, for every Vespa. Your phone guides you with an outline on screen.

The Normal level

Two AIs, one report

The Reader looks at the photos. The Reviewer does not: it compares what the Reader saw with the declared data and with what it knows about the model.

  • Readerreads the twenty photos
  • Reviewercompares them with the data and the model
  1. Reader

Photo 10, frame stamp: I read the prefix VSX1T.

  2. Reviewer

    The seller declares a 1981 P 200 E. VSX1T is the right prefix.

  3. Reader

Photo 6, left panel: the grey is a different shade from the right.

  4. Reviewer

Could be a touch-up. I flag it to look into, not as a defect.

  5. Reader

Photo 12, engine: an oil trace under the crankcase, clutch side.

  6. Reviewer

At 18,900 km that is plausible. I will ask an inspector to look at it.

  7. Reader

Photo 19, registration book: the frame number is legible and matches.

  8. Reviewer

Report ready. Two points to look into, no inconsistency in the papers.

  9. Tunnel Verde report

Declared data, checks carried out and points to look into, separated and readable. Attached to the listing.

The dialogue is written for the demo: it shows how the two models work on the P 200 E listing, not a real log.

Questions

On the limits of the check

Does the AI certify that the Vespa is original?

No. The AI assists the analysis and flags consistencies or anomalies; it does not issue a legal certificate. Uncertain points are looked at by a person, and the report states them as such.

Who are the inspectors?

Mechanics and restorers with at least ten years on geared Vespas, selected region by region. The inspector's name is on the report.

What cannot be verified?

From photos or a video call you cannot test brakes and suspension, or feel how it rides. That is what the Plus level is for.

Is the report a guarantee?

No: it is an accurate description of the scooter's condition on a given day. Any guarantee comes from the seller.
